Our Vision

Our vision is to be the first point of contact for any individual affected by sickle cell (Those with Sickle Cell disease and those with the trait).

We aim to work with different health professionals to continue understanding the condition which will put us in place to bridge the gap where there is a lack of understanding in the community. This might help lead to new innovative ways of managing the condition and better supporting those affected. The idea is to assist and help minimise pain and suffering wherever possible.

We aim to have enhanced and insight knowledge about Sickle Cell and the best support plan based on individual assessment. We wish to advocate on behalf of those affected by Sickle Cell disease and to enhance accessible testing for individuals recognised as being at risk of Sickle Cell. Help communities understand Sickle Cell Disease and its adverse effects on ones life.

We aim to work closely with individuals with Sickle Cell by providing counselling, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, Mental Health service Emotional well-being help raise awareness.

It is of upmost importance that we break the stigma which exists around Sickle Cell Disease within the health care system as this plays a pivotal role in combating Sickle Cell Disease. We believe more can be done to enhance the relationship between individuals with Sickle Cell Disease and their healthcare providers. This will lead to a better understanding of individual needs and may lead to better treatment of management.

Finally, we aim to lobby the government and local authorities to make considerable changes where necessary to ensure that this condition doesn’t continue to debilitate people’s livelihoods as this is not cost-effective, these individuals could be contributing to the economy, but they are limited to social benefits. They could be supporting their families and playing their part in society instead of being dependants.
